Forget the typos
Don’t focus on the typos. It’s a lesson I have to remind myself of daily. Don’t be a pedant, or a grammar nazi when people are writing or speaking. It can be belittling, ignores their main point and even oppressive to those who perhaps haven’t had the opportunity to focus on grammar and spelling but whose ideas are just as legitimate.
It’s the cynic’s way to focus on these things.
And it’s the thin end of the wedge.
It’s the same sort of thinking that leads to the situation where women call out men for oppression, and it’s referred to as reverse sexism, as if women have been and are causing oppression and injustice to men across society. The main message is ignored and the response is defensive and petty.
So, forget the typos, focus on the main message, the intent and the meaning, and worry about polishing things later.
